'All The Best'

'All The Best' is to much comedy movia in the Bollywood industry. Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse, Asrani are actpres of this film. This film Direct by Rohit Shetty. And Producer of this film is Ajay devgon. The film made Devgan Entertainment Banner.

If you are amongst those who do not mind watching senseless comedies, as long as they make them laugh, then ‘All The Best’ is surely the flick for you this weekend. From the director of ‘Golmaal’ and ‘Golmaal Returns’ comes the latest comedy venture, which has been inspired from a play called Right Bed, Wrong Husband. Though the story is farce, it is the harmless lies, mistaken identities, a few well-placed slaps and the non- stop gags that present the fun element and provide lots of laughs for the audience.

All The Best’ goes off for a slow start and does not have too much happening in the first half. However, with the entry of Sanjay Dutt (which takes place around the second half), everything changes. The series of mistaken identity that takes place soon after makes you roll with laughter. This is where the comedy picks up and after that, there is no stopping for this madcap flick! The jokes, even though some are more like PJs, keep coming at a fast pace and that too sans the double-meaning terms (what a relief!).

Ajay Devgan & Sanjay Dutt steal the show in ‘All The Best’. While Ajay is getting better in comedy with time, his pairing with Dutt brought out the very best. The two seem to be having fun onscreen and manage to transfer their energy to the audience as well. Johnny Lever and Sanjay Mishra add to the fun. Bipasha Basu did well for her first comic flick, while Fardeen managed to bring a few genuine laughs. However, Mugda didn’t get to do much and needs to boost her comic quotient. This one is a complete no-brainer, so those expecting a high-IQ comedy should stay at home. Rest everyone will surely enjoy it at the multiplex

It is said that money is good only till the time you keep it as your servant. The moment you let money become your master, all hell breaks loose. Based on a similar concept is Ajay Devgan’s upcoming production ‘All The Best’. The star cast of the movie includes Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse, and Asrani. The music has been provided by none other Pritam, with Kumaar being the lyricist

Promising to bring your loads of laughs as well as surprises, ‘All The Best’ has been directed by Rohit Shetty. In addition, it also promises to offer you loads of action sequences. In other words, we can say that this Hindi film is a fine combination of just about everything that makes a movie a box-office hit - comedy, thrills and surprises. It will hit the theaters on October 16, 2009, under the banner ‘Devgan Entertainment’.

Prem Chopra (Ajay Devgan) is a wannabe car expert, who lives with his beautiful wife Jhanvi (Bipasha Basu). Together, the two of them run Prem’s ancestral gym. Known to them is Veer Kapoor (Fardeen Khan), an upcoming rock band singer who claims to be a married guy. He has a sexy girlfriend Vidya (Mugdha Godse) and lives off the pocket money given by his millionaire step brother Dharam Kapoor (Sanjay Dutt).

Shree Krishna Shrestha

Actor Sri Krishna Shrestha who did over 100 films of others has come to realise that promoting and selling a film are more difficult than doing and making a film. He realised this while preparing to release his first home product - Kaha Bhetiyala."I have now realised that making or acting in a film is easier than promoting it," Shrestha said. "As an actor you create a film on the basis of the character; as a filmmaker you manage the money, manpower and equipment; but when you want to release it to the public, you have to depend on the hall owners, and the halls do not belong to you."The experiences of actor Sri Krishna reveal the difficulties that a filmmaker faces while releasing his films. When a popular actor like Shrestha finds it difficult to sell his home product, one can easily realise the situation of the general filmmakers. Many of the filmmakers cannot release their films even five years after their making."Now I am one in all - an actor, maker and seller - of Kaha Bhetiyala, and I am busy arranging the halls for its release in Kathmandu from July 24," Shrestha said.Shrestha is to release his film across the country a week after its release in Kathmandu.Shrestha who has acted in over 100 films terms his first home product as a musical love story. He also says that as a man dedicated to a career in films, he has to be a director or producer in order to sustain in the field. In Nepal, old actors hardly get roles in films. So, he chose to be a producer and made Kaha Bhetiyala on a story which he himself wrote on the basis of what he saw on the highway hotels while travelling outside the valley as a crew member of several film units."It is my attempt to bring the men (and women) who are heading on the wrong path to the right track," he said. Most of the films that Sri Krishna Shrestha did in the past became box-office hits. His Afanta, Afno Manchhe, Eh Mero Hajur and Hami Tin Bhai were hits in the years they were released. Also almost all the films Sri Krishna did have been directed by Shiva Regmi, a highly successful director.
Indeed, Shrestha did not act only in three films - Manish, Upahar and Ek Phera Hansi Deuna - of Shiva Regmi. In other films they are always together."I find it comfortable to do his film," he said. However, he does not have actresses like Niruta Singh, Jala Shah and Bipana Thapa in this venture - actresses who accompanied him in his previous films. This time he has Sweta Khadka, a totally new face, to replace his all-time actresses. But how is his film? The audiences will have to wait till July 24 to find the answer.Actor cum producer Shrestha simply says that it is close to reality and free from dramatised events and actions.

Aarav "Sarkar" Malhotra (Akshay Kumar) runs a fishing company in the Bahamas, in which Sagar "Sethji" Singh (Sanjay Dutt) is a diver. While Aarav has done well for himself, Sethji is under a financial crisis. To help him, Aarav advises Sethji to retrieve the lost treasure of a sunken ship called Lady in Blue. However, Sethji refuses to go to the ship as he has a haunted past with the ship.
Meanwhile, Sam (Zayed Khan) is in Thailand. He is a bike racer and the brother of Sethji. He races illegally and earns his living. This is where he meets Nikki (Katrina Kaif) who offers him work with Gulshan (Rahul Dev) to earn some extra cash. Gulshan offers $50,000 to Sam to deliver a package, but intentionally sabotages his mission by calling the cops on him. Following a heated chase, Sam loses the package. Gulshan threatens to kill Sam if he fails to return the package or pay up $50 million in return for it. Seeking advise from Nikki who Sam has developed an interest in, Sam leaves for the Bahamas to lay low with his brother.
Back in the Bahamas, Aarav tries to convince Sethji time and again to go to the Lady in Blue but in vain. Meanwhile, Sam finds a ring in Sethji's room which belonged to the treasure aboard the ship and realizes that his brother is hiding something from him. For the time being, Sethji says he bought the ring for his wife Mona (Lara Dutta). A few days later, some people attack Sam, when he receives a call from Gulshan saying that he is coming for him and that Nikki has been killed. Aarav saves Sam and demands to know why people tried to kill him. Sam tells Aarav everything and they decide to convince Sethji to go after the treasure as it is the last hope.
Meanwhile, Gulshan lands in the Bahamas and destroys Sethji's house and takes Mona hostage in return for the $50 million or Sam's appearance in front of him. With no other choice, he agrees to go with Aarav and Sam to the Lady in Blue to get the treasure. He also reveals his past, and the reason for his earlier non-compliance. A flashback reveals that Sethji as a young boy went diving with his father and they stumbled on the ship. His father located the ring and gave it to him. But while in the ship, due to an accident, Sethji's father gets trapped beneath an iron bar and dies.
The three locate the treasure only to find that Gulshan has arrived there with his henchmen and Mona. He threatens to spare Mona's life only in return for the treasure. After a lot of fighting in the water with Gulshan's henchmen they save Mona and at the end they realise that Aarav and Gulshan were actually business partners. Aarav told Gulshan to send Sam to the Bahamas and to kidnap Mona in order to convince Sagar to aid him in his search for the treasure. A fight ensues between Aarav and Sagar and Sam and Gulshan, resulting in Aarav killing Gulshan. Aarav dives into the sea with his bike and survives by inhaling the oxygen from the tyres. A storm is coming, therefore Sam, Sagar, and Mona decide to leave and head for land. At the end, Aarav calls Sagar and apologizes to everyone and said he has found all the treasure and tells his story of how he survives. It is discovered that Nikki was Aarav's wife and that her death was faked. Aarav tells them that they had to get their hands on the treasure because his grandfather Jagat Malhotra (Kabir Bedi) was the Captain of Lady in Blue and was accused of sinking the ship on purpose and was embarrassed in court, leading to him committing suicide. Aarav says he wanted to clear his family's name. Aarav receives a reward from the Indian Government for returning the lost treasure, and he deposits it into an account in the name of Sagar.

New York

New York is one of the bravest attempt coming from the Yashraj stable . Aditya Chopra has only been attributed as the story writer for the film & to be very fair the film does have a predictable story line .Well you cant blame him for lack of ideas as he is always hidden & reclusive to the world to watch it closely . The film talks about the Muslim point of view in U.S.A post 9/11 . How the most civilized world lost their humanity at the first sign of global danger i.e. Al Qaeeda . Now the Muslim Plight has been brilliantly showcased in the movies like the outstanding Aamir , But 9/11 & America’s reaction to it has not been depicted in Hindi cinema before . So inspite of having a predictable story , the setting is new . That’s exactly what works for New York . What also works for the film is the friendship track in the university . The track with wonderful song ‘Junoon’ playing in the background creates a sense of strong emotions for the characters especially for Neil’s character that lingers on even in the most dramatic scenes featuring Neil . In the same way the big twist though on expected lines works well because the torture scene preceding it has been shot extremelyBut thank God New York has been helmed by a Kabir Khan & not a Aditya Chopra or else we would have seen a 3 hr plus movie with loads of melodrama & songs .All these factors would have doomed the movie as it is of completely different genre in contrast to the Romantic epics that Aditya is known to make . Thankfully Kabir Khan comes from a raw & Real school of filmmaking , a facet that we saw in his extremely unique & quirky first attempt Kabul Express . Kabir Khan has a very simple style of story telling , no props , no unique camera angles , just let the story do the talking So none of the songs are lip -synched but are used as backgrounds to set the moods of the scenes , the pacing is fast & important scenes are superbly shot like the John Abraham’s big revelation scenes or the torture scenes . realistically . It also helps to give John’s character the meat that it required .Where Kabir Khan does well again is his choice of actor in the most important role of the film . Jus like his choosing of the brilliant Arshad Warsi in Kabul Express ,here too he goes for the superb Irfan Khan for the role of an FBI agent who creates the game which takes the story forward , Irfaan also has also has to mouth some very topical lines as regards to conveying the main message of the movie .Though in the hands of any other actor such lines could have gone into preachy territory , it is Irfaan’s natural talent that he makes all the lines real& restraint .
Though Kabir is not a director who can be called as an expert in extracting great performances from all his actors , which explains the indifferent performances from the 3 leads which varies from brilliance to plain ordinary(the 9/11 scene & their reaction to it is one such example of such inconsistency , seriously the expressions there was quite wooden in sharp contrast to what should have been the case after seeing such a heinous event happening supposedly so close to them) . It was quite expected though as non of the actors are known to be performers & it is after all their 1st attempts at full fledged serious roles .So inspite of the fact that one cant call it a complete performance they still surprise you in many of the scenes . Look at John Abraham , in an effort that can be termed as a performance from him after a long time instead of his regular kind of roles where he has to show the audience his Abs ( sometimes more than that) &just look good , he shocks you in the second half especially the sophistication & ease he brings to his dreaded character .It is easily his best effort till date & his constant improvement & choice of intelligent subjects as a way to enhance his career shows that one day John will be counted as an actor & the wooden tag will be removed , a change that has happened with many other actors ( for Example a certain MR KHiladi) The same goes for Neil who has trappings of someone whom will evolve into a fine actor & inspite of the fact that he has got lots of scenes with Irfaan he comes out with flying colors expect for the few glitches here & there , it is a fine effort for somebody doing his third film . Katrina largely plays a supporting role to the 3 men , but surprises one as well in her first performance oriented role , yes she still has issues with dialogue delivery , but she has been aptly cast has the sunshine ( ever smiling) girl in the movie .A word for the actor who plays who is brilliant & a complete natural , I wonder why such talents are not highlighted by the media Having said all the nice deserved things about New York , there is one glitch which I want to covey & that is the glorification of the anti-social . For some reason at one point unintentionally I might add we start rooting for the anti-social rather than the law enforcers , which is a dangerous situation at times especially the message that the makers is trying to convey through this movie . It is quite dangerous in times like these when violence is prevalent in every corner of the society.

History of FILM

Preceding film by thousands of years, plays and dances had elements common to film: scripts, sets, costumes, production, direction, actors, audiences, storyboards, and scores. Much terminology later used in film theory and criticism applied, such as mise en scene (roughly, the entire visual picture at any one time). Moving visual and aural images were not recorded for replaying as in film.
The camera obscura was pioneered by Alhazen in his Book of Optics , and later near the year 1600, it was perfected by Giambattista della Porta. Light is inverted through a small hole or lens from outside, and projected onto a surface or screen, creating a moving image, but it is not preserved in a recording.
In the 1860s, mechanisms for producing two-dimensional drawings in motion were demonstrated with devices such as the zoetrope, mutoscope and praxinoscope. These machines were outgrowths of simple optical devices (such as magic lanterns) and would display sequences of still pictures at sufficient speed for the images on the pictures to appear to be moving, a phenomenon called persistence of vision. Naturally the images needed to be carefully designed to achieve the desired effect, and the underlying principle became the basis for the development of film animation.
With the development of celluloid film for still photography, it became possible to directly capture objects in motion in real time. An 1878 experiment by Eadweard Muybridge in the United States using 24 cameras produced a series of stereoscopic images of a galloping horse, arguably the first "motion picture," though it was not called by this name. This technology required a person to look into a viewing machine to see the pictures which were separate paper prints attached to a drum turned by a handcrank. The pictures were shown at a variable speed of about 5 to 10 pictures per second, depending on how rapidly the crank was turned. Commercial versions of these machines were coin operated.

By the 1880s the development of the motion picture camera allowed the individual component images to be captured and stored on a single reel, and led quickly to the development of a motion picture projector to shine light through the processed and printed film and magnify these "moving picture shows" onto a screen for an entire audience. These reels, so exhibited, came to be known as "motion pictures". Early motion pictures were static shots that showed an event or action with no editing or other cinematic techniques.
Ignoring Dickson's early sound experiments (1894), commercial motion pictures were purely visual art through the late 19th century, but these innovative silent films had gained a hold on the public imagination. Around the turn of the twentieth century, films began developing a narrative structure by stringing scenes together to tell narratives. The scenes were later broken up into multiple shots of varying sizes and angles. Other techniques such as camera movement were realized as effective ways to portray a story on film. Rather than leave the audience in silence, theater owners would hire a pianist or organist or a full orchestra to play music fitting the mood of the film at any given moment. By the early 1920s, most films came with a prepared list of sheet music for this purpose, with complete film scores being composed for major productions.

A shot from Georges Méliès Le Voyage dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon) , an early narrative film.
The rise of European cinema was interrupted by the outbreak of World War I when the film industry in United States flourished with the rise of Hollywood, typified most prominently by the great innovative work of D.W. Griffith in The Birth of a Nation and Intolerance . However in the 1920s, European filmmakers such as Sergei Eisenstein, F. W. Murnau, and Fritz Lang,in many ways inspired by the meteoric war-time progress of film through Griffith, along with the contributions of Charles Chaplin, Buster Keaton and others, quickly caught up with American film-making and continued to further advance the medium. In the 1920s, new technology allowed filmmakers to attach to each film a soundtrack of speech, music and sound effects synchronized with the action on the screen. These sound films were initially distinguished by calling them "talking pictures", or talkies.
The next major step in the development of cinema was the introduction of so-called "natural" color. While the addition of sound quickly eclipsed silent film and theater musicians, color was adopted more gradually as methods evolved making it more practical and cost effective to produce "natural color" films. The public was relatively indifferent to color photography as opposed to black-and-white,[citation needed] but as color processes improved and became as affordable as black-and-white film, more and more movies were filmed in color after the end of World War II, as the industry in America came to view color as essential to attracting audiences in its competition with television, which remained a black-and-white medium until the mid-1960s. By the end of the 1960s, color had become the norm for film makers.
Since the decline of the studio system in the 1960s, the succeeding decades saw changes in the production and style of film. Various New Wave movements (including the French New Wave, Indian New Wave, Japanese New Wave and New Hollywood) and the rise of film school educated independent filmmakers were all part of the changes the medium experienced in the latter half of the 20th century. Digital technology has been the driving force in change throughout the 1990s and into the 21st century.
